Pearls of the Orient began wholesaling cultured freshwater pearl jewellery at IJL in 2002. The family-owned business has been supplying jewellery retailers, fashion boutiques and high street chains throughout the UK and Ireland for almost 10 years. Formerly symbolic of conservative older generations, there has been a resurgence in the popularity of cultured pearls over the past few years. With a whole new array of design options and pearls available in a myriad of shapes, sizes and shades, the versatility of these classic pieces now appeals to all ages.
Pearls have a constantly changing kaleidoscope of colours which can be matched or contrasted to suit seasonal changes in the fashion world. Each stunning collection combines the timeless elegance of cultured freshwater pearls with the very latest fashion trends and styles. Pearls of the Orient?s eye-catching range is enhanced by semi-precious gems including amethyst, lapis lazuli, turquoise, coral, rose quartz, onyx, tourmaline and garnet.
The company?s collection also extends to bridal jewellery. Elegant, delicate, sparkling necklaces and pendants of many different lengths complement varying necklines and styles of wedding gowns. Creamy, lustrous cultured freshwater pearls with Swarovski crystals and semi-precious gems are strung on nylon, silk thread and sterling silver chains. Pearls of the Orient?s bridal range includes single and multi-strand necklaces, as well as teardrop pendants with bracelets and earrings to match. Bridesmaids are given the option of affordable cultured freshwater pearls to match the shade of the bridal gown and accessories.
Not wishing to exclude anyone from the joy of pearls, the business has also released a range for children. Designs include a classic potato pearl necklace and bracelet set, with a charming sterling silver heart hanging from each piece. An additional feature is a sterling silver extension chain for both pieces, ensuring that the pearls will continue to fit the wearer as they grow.
